It is a short guided flow that walks you through naming what is going on right now. It is not a screen. It is not a diagnostic tool. It is a small way to slow down for a minute and choose one next step.
No. Pill reminders in Unstuck are backup reminders only. They are not medication advice, dosing guidance, refill support, adherence tracking, or clinical monitoring. Do not rely on Unstuck as your only method of remembering medication. Always follow instructions from your licensed clinician or pharmacist.
No. Check-ins are for personal awareness. They are not a screen, a diagnosis, or a clinical assessment.
No. Reset tools are short, common low-cost behaviors (breathing, grounding, brain dumps, simple defusion). Many clinicians teach them. Using them is not the same as being in care.
Briefly: local-only storage, no account, no streaks, no subscription, built by a psychiatrist. See the comparison on the Features page.

No. Unstuck is not a crisis service and is not monitored in real time. If you are thinking about suicide or hurting yourself, call or text 988 anytime. Text HOME to 741741 for Crisis Text Line. Veterans can call 988 then press 1, or text 838255. Call 911 if you are in immediate danger. Outside the United States, contact your local emergency number or visit findahelpline.com. Read the Safety and Disclaimer page.
No. Unstuck is not a substitute for professional mental health care, psychiatry, therapy, primary care, medication management, or emergency support. If what you need is clinical care, please see a licensed clinician.
A few common starting points: your primary care doctor for a referral, a licensed therapist (Psychology Today's directory is a common search starting place), a psychiatric practice, or shrinkMD if you are in a state shrinkMD supports. shrinkMD is a separate telepsychiatry practice founded by the same person who founded Unstuck. It is not part of Unstuck's app experience.
No. Journaling can be useful for reflection. It is not therapy, diagnosis, treatment, or monitoring. If you find that writing brings up material heavier than you expected, that is a signal to talk to a clinician.
No. Unstuck is a self-guided wellness app, not a clinical product. Some of the tools (brain dumps, grounding, breathing, thought defusion, behavioral activation language) overlap with techniques that show up in evidence-based therapy traditions like CBT and ACT. Using a behavior is not the same as being in care, and Unstuck does not deliver any therapy modality.
You can use it if it helps you. It is not a treatment for any of those conditions. If you have one of them, your clinician's plan is the right anchor. Unstuck can be a small organizational tool on the side. If you do not have a clinician yet and a condition is affecting your daily life, please reach out to one.
No. Feeling stuck is a common experience, not a medical condition. If it lasts weeks, includes hopelessness, low energy, loss of interest, or thoughts of self-harm, that is worth bringing to a clinician.
Unstuck is intended for users 17 and older.
Unstuck is a consumer wellness app, not a covered entity or business associate under HIPAA. Local-first design means most of what you enter never leaves your device. Read the Consumer Health Data Notice for the relevant state law disclosures.

Same founder, separate companies. Unstuck is a wellness app. shrinkMD is a multistate telepsychiatry practice with licensed clinicians. Using Unstuck does not create a doctor-patient relationship with Shariq Refai, MD, shrinkMD, or anyone associated with Unstuck. If what you want is clinician care rather than an app, that is what shrinkMD is for.
Because most of what people carry is not a diagnosis. It is small, real, and sticky. A loop you cannot quiet. A task you keep avoiding. A scroll you cannot stop. The app is for one small step at a time.
