1. Who we are
Unstuck is a self-guided wellness and reflection app and website. This Privacy Policy explains how information is handled when you use the Unstuck app or website.
2. Local-only app design
The current version of the Unstuck app is designed to store user-created content locally on your device rather than on Unstuck-operated servers.
3. Information stored locally on your device
The Unstuck app may store the following information locally on your device:
- Journal entries
- Journal spaces
- Prompts
- Check-ins
- Mood selections
- Activity tags
- Routines
- Saved tools
- Reminder schedules
- Reminder logs
- Hydration reminders
- Pill reminders
- Appointment reminders
- Affirmation preferences
- App lock settings
- App preferences
- Exported backups created by you
Unstuck does not actively review or monitor locally stored content.
4. Information not uploaded in the local-only version
In the current local-only version, Unstuck does not upload journal entries, check-ins, routines, reminders, pill reminder details, appointment reminder details, hydration reminders, app lock preferences, or other user-created app content to Unstuck-operated servers.
Appointment reminders are personal organizational tools only. Appointment titles, dates, times, and notes are stored locally on your device. Unstuck does not connect to your device calendar, contact providers, verify appointments, or coordinate care.
5. Website information
If the Unstuck website uses hosting logs, your browser, IP address, device type, referring page, pages visited, timestamps, and similar technical information may be processed by the hosting provider for security, fraud prevention, diagnostics, performance, and operation of the website.
Website hosting providers and infrastructure providers may automatically process limited technical information for security, fraud prevention, diagnostics, and website delivery.
Website analytics (Google Analytics). The website uses Google Analytics 4 to understand which pages help visitors, only after you accept analytics in the consent banner. Until you accept, and if you decline, the Google Analytics script is not loaded and no Google analytics requests are sent. When you consent, Google Analytics may receive pages visited, referring page, approximate region, device and browser type, and safe navigation events such as outbound network links. A click to another Shrink Network site can also send a broad section name and destination to that site's Google Analytics property. We don't send the specific topic, search text, or anything you write in the Unstuck app. We don't use Google Analytics advertising or remarketing features. You can change your choice at any time on the Cookie Notice page. Google processes this data as described in its own privacy documentation.
What we do not do on the website. Beyond the consent-gated Google Analytics described above, Unstuck does not set advertising or marketing cookies, does not use advertising pixels, does not use heatmaps or session replay, does not fingerprint your device, does not build an advertising profile of you across sites, and does not sell or share visit information with advertising or data-broker networks. The site does load a small number of static assets (such as web fonts) from common content delivery networks; those CDNs receive standard request metadata (IP address, user agent, referring page) for the purpose of delivering the asset only. The Cookie Notice lists every cookie.
6. Email and contact information
If you contact us by email, we may receive your name, email address, and the content of your message so we can respond.
Please avoid sending sensitive medical, mental health, medication, emergency, or crisis information through email.
7. Notifications
Notifications are scheduled locally on your device when you enable them. Notification delivery depends on device settings, permissions, operating system behavior, Do Not Disturb settings, focus modes, battery state, software updates, and other technical factors.
Notification timing and delivery are controlled in part by your device and operating system.
8. Exports
Exports are user-controlled. Once you export data from Unstuck, the exported file is no longer protected by Unstuck and may be handled by the apps, services, devices, cloud storage providers, or people you choose to share it with.
9. Deletion
Deleting the app, clearing local data, or deleting a data category may permanently delete local information unless you exported a copy first.
Deleted information may not be recoverable.
10. Security
Unstuck is designed with a privacy-focused, local-first architecture. However, no device, software environment, transmission method, or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure. Users are responsible for securing access to their own devices, backups, exported files, and notification visibility settings.
11. No sale of personal information
Unstuck does not sell personal information.
12. No behavioral advertising
Unstuck is not built around behavioral advertising or tracking-based advertising.
13. Children
Unstuck is not intended for children under 13.
14. Third-party services
If app stores, device operating systems, hosting providers, email providers, or other third-party services process information, their own policies apply.
15. Your choices
Users can:
- Avoid creating optional data
- Disable notifications
- Export data
- Delete local data
- Uninstall the app
- Contact support
16. Changes
We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. Continued use of Unstuck after updates become effective constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
17. Identity of the operating entity and contact

18. Retention
For the website, server logs (such as IP address and user agent) are retained for up to 30 days for security and diagnostics. Support emails are retained for up to 24 months unless you request earlier deletion. For the app, journal entries, check-ins, reminders, and routines remain on your device until you delete them.
19. AI use
Unstuck does not use AI to generate journal content, analyze your entries, classify your mood, or shape what you see in the app. Your journal entries, check-ins, routines, and reminders are not used to train any AI model and are not shared with any third-party AI provider. The AI Use and Editorial Assistance page describes where AI tools may assist the Unstuck team behind the scenes (drafting marketing copy, editing Journal articles, software-development support) and where AI is not used. If any future Unstuck feature uses AI, we will update this section and that page before the feature ships and add a clear in-app disclosure at the point where AI is used.
20. California residents (CCPA/CPRA)
If you live in California, you have rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act.
Categories of personal information collected from the website in the last 12 months: identifiers (IP address, device identifiers when you visit the site, and Google Analytics cookie identifiers if you consent to analytics), internet activity information (pages visited, referrer), and any information you choose to send us by email.
Sources: directly from you and automatically from your browser and device.
Business purposes: operating and securing the website, responding to your email, and complying with law.
Sensitive personal information: journal content, check-ins, and other in-app entries can include sensitive personal information that reveals mental or physical health. The Unstuck app does not transmit that information to Unstuck servers. Unstuck does not use sensitive personal information for purposes that require the right to limit notice.
We do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. We have not sold or shared personal information in the prior 12 months.
Your rights: you have the right to know, the right to delete, the right to correct, the right to opt out of sale or sharing (which we do not do), the right to limit use of sensitive personal information, and the right to non-discrimination. To exercise any of these rights, email support@beunstuck.app with "California Privacy Rights" in the subject line. We will respond within 45 days. You may also designate an authorized agent in writing.
21. Washington residents (My Health My Data Act)
If you live in Washington, information you enter in the Unstuck app (journal entries, mood check-ins, activity tags, pill names, appointment notes, routines) may be considered consumer health data under RCW 19.373. The current version of Unstuck stores this information locally on your device and does not upload it to Unstuck-operated servers.
We do not sell consumer health data. We do not share consumer health data for targeted advertising. We do not use this information to provide medical care or to make any decision about you. We do not use geofencing around health facilities.
Your Washington Privacy Rights: you have the right to access, delete, and withdraw consent for any consumer health data we hold. You can also appeal a denial of your request. To exercise any of these rights, email support@beunstuck.app with "Washington Privacy Rights" in the subject line. We respond within 45 days. If we deny your request, you can appeal within 45 days and we will respond to the appeal within 45 days. Because Unstuck stores app data locally on your device, you can also delete the data yourself at any time by deleting the category in-app or by uninstalling the app.
22. Nevada residents (SB 370)
If you live in Nevada, we do not sell your covered information as defined by Nevada law. To submit a verified request related to your covered information, email support@beunstuck.app.
23. Users outside the United States
The Unstuck app and website are operated from the United States and intended for users in the United States. If you visit the website from outside the United States, information you submit will be processed in the United States.
If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, you have data subject rights under the GDPR or UK GDPR, including the right to access, correct, erase, restrict processing, object, and data portability, and the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority. Our lawful basis for processing the limited website data we collect is legitimate interest (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR) for site operation and security, consent (Article 6(1)(a)) for Google Analytics cookies (which you can withdraw at any time on the Cookie Notice page), and performance of a request (Article 6(1)(b)) when you contact us. Email support@beunstuck.app to exercise these rights.
24. Children under 13 (COPPA)
Unstuck is intended for users 17 and older. It is not directed to and does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian who believes a child under 13 has provided personal information to us, email support@beunstuck.app and we will delete it.
25. Material changes notice
We will update the effective date at the top whenever we change this policy. For material changes, we will post a notice on the homepage for at least 30 days. Continued use after the effective date of an update means you accept the update.
26. Surveillance pricing
Unstuck does not use any information about you to personalize prices.
27. Contact
